THE BANNER CONFIRM EUROPEAN & UK TOUR DATES

Last Updated - Monday 23rd January 2006, 13:05

“Frightening moments of brutal horror-inspired fear, speedy times of fleeting senses, and apocalyptic breakdowns.” Tyler White, Chord Magazine

New Jersey’s most awesome outfit, The Banner, have announced an extensive UK and European tour with the mighty Death By Stereo and Himsa.

The Banner have made it their mission to destroy every horror rock stereotype in the book. The intense and aggressive lyrics of charismatic singer Joey Southside sizzle alongside the heavy, bone-crunching punch of their breakdowns, while the melodic, metal-laced ballads throw all comparisons completely off course. And their uncompromising force is tempered by a sense of fun and a dedication to their audience that is unprecedented in the field.

Their malevolent potion of hardcore, punk and black metal has been intoxicating the Banner’s home state of New Jersey since 2000. Their debut EP, Posthumous, impressed critics and fans in 2004 and in 2005 the band transferred their talent to Ferret Music and released their progressive masterpiece Each Breath Haunted which confirmed their standing; head and shoulders above their contemporaries in the North East of their homeland.

The Banner’s fearsome live reputation is well deserved. They’ve appeared on the Warped Tour and Skate and Surf fest as well as opening for formidable acts including Poison the well, My Chemical Romance, Bleeding Through, Eighteen Visions, Throwdown, Dillinger Escape Plan, The Locust and A Static Lullaby. They rounded off 2005 triumphantly, on the move with Walls Of Jericho, Modern Life Is War and With Honor.

The band, who have earned a worthy reputation on the circuit thanks to their insane live antics, are poised to warm up for the European dates on a Stateside “mini-tour” with Himsa. When they arrive on this side of the pond they will be fired-up and ready to kick the hell out of the European hardcore scene.
