The Black Dahlia Murder Announce 2006 Winter European Tour Dates

Last Updated - Monday 24th October 2005, 14:28

The Black Dahlia Murder: “A band with songs that are solid sheets of high-volume, provocative, dark-metal sound.”

In celebration of the success of acclaimed second album Miasma, The Black Dahlia Murder has announced a string of live dates in Europe during the early part of 2006.

Described as a “a soundtrack for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse … if they were riding really fast”, Miasma marked a turning point for a band which was already whirling in a torrent of rabid praise and punishing live dates. The record immediately entered the top 200 Billboard chart, selling just under 10,000 copies in its first week of release and made no1 in Billboard’s Heat Seekers chart.

Live, the band has reached unimagined territory with eager fans desperate to catch their pure and unyielding metal performance, which is lauded as a return to the roots and passion of the music.

In 2005, the band joined the legendary Ozzfest and bewitched audiences at every date, establishing themselves as one of the event’s highlights. Guitarist Brian Eschbach admits that the band were a little stunned by the scale of Ozzfest at first - but the level of audience enthusiasm for their music soon brushed any reservations aside. Eschbach says of the Ozzfest tour: “Any way for a band to introduce themselves to new people is a good thing. Life is about experience and experiencing as many things as possible and to be able to have that many people come and experience our stuff - well, that’s awesome!”

After this fantastic year for the Detroit-based band comes to an end, they kick off an intensive two-month tour of Europe – without pausing for breath! Starting in Essen Germany, they will take-in the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary and Austria before arriving in London on February 6th for a hotly anticipated night at Underworld.

The UK leg of the tour will also feature dates in Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, Norwich and Newport.

2006 will bring bigger and better things for the band who stole away the limelight from some of metal’s biggest and baddest names at Ozzfest. The forthcoming European tour is set to stun, thrill and scare the living hell out of devoted fans across Europe – and they will love every minute of it.
