Karl Larsson Solo Album & UK Tour, 2005

Taking a sabbatical from his formidable band, Last Days of April, Karl Larsson embarks on his solo journey in a philosophical state of mind. Leaving the pressures of his hugely successful Stockholm-based band behind, the songwriter has made an honest and open solo album with scaled-down production and organic songs.
Unlike Last Days of April’s recordings, Larsson’s debut solo album, Pale As Milk, does not strive for perfection. The songs, all written, arranged and produced by Larsson, are natural and heartfelt, with catchy pop melodies and diverse influences. In striking contrast to the band’s records, Pale As Milk is unselfconscious, personal and pared down.
Although the album, released in the UK on August 8th 2005, was predominantly a one-man endeavor, Larsson did recruit the gifted, Grammy award-winning producer Pelle Gunnerfeldt (The Hives, Sahara Hotnights) to oversee the final studio sessions and add his unique touch to the mix.
Larsson’s performance is undoubtedly inspired by indie guitar heroes such as J Mascis, but his roots in the Swedish indie pop-scene are also evident. Lyrically, the album speaks inspirationally and individually about the world - and about the love in it.
Larsson wanted to produce something very different to the work he has done with the band, and this very human and very spontaneous debut will woo established fans and newcomers alike.
To reach out to his fans across the World, Larsson is taking Pale As Milk out on the road with an international solo tour. After the constant touring and intense media interest he has experienced with Last Days Of April, the dates have been carefully scheduled to reflect the themes and feeling of the new album.
To that end, Larsson plays selected dates in Australia, Germany, Austria, France and Holland before traveling to the UK, where he plays six highly anticipated and exclusive live dates.
