THE STARTING LINE Autumn Tour, 2005
Last Updated - Friday 29th July 2005, 17:11
To celebrate the continuing success in the US of “Based on a True Story”, released in May of this year, debuting at #18 on the Billboard top 200. The Starting Line are paying a highly-anticipated visit to their ever-growing fan-base in the UK.
The Pennsylvania-based quartet has barely paused for breath since ripping into our lives with 2002’s debut album, “Say It Like You Mean It”. In 2003, the band pushed personal and creative boundaries with the acclaimed six-track acoustic mini-album, “Make Yourself At Home” which further established them as a band with multi-faceted passion, a diverse agenda and talent coming out of their collective ears.
Front-man Ken Vasoli joined The Starting Line at the ridiculously tender age of 14. He may have been wet behind the ears back then, but Vasoli has grown with the band – his confessional lyrics and soaring vocals are reaching a stage of maturity that still belies his years.
On the road, the band has evolved into a monster. A powerhouse of energy, professionalism, dedication and sheer excitement, they have shared the bill with the likes of the Transplants, Good Charlotte, The Offspring, Sum 41, Senses Fail and MXPX. After three years of relentless touring, they are as polished and perfect as any live band on the scene today.
Currently spinning through the States on the legendary Warped tour, The Starting Line’s plans for a trip across the Atlantic have just been announced. During an eight date extravaganza in September, the band will play shows including London, Manchester, Cardiff and Glasgow alongside The Early November and Anberlin.
The UK dates follow a trip to Japan and the band is confirmed for the 3rd annual Nintendo Fusion Tour in the States with Fall Out Boy, Motion City Soundtrack, Boys Night Out and Panic.
The story of The Starting Line is barely through the first chapter and with a host of amazing live shows coming up, the remainder of 2005 is sure to thicken the plot immeasurably.
